Being Vegetarian

I’ve been a vegetarian for about 10 years and always seem to come across people who wonder what I eat. Vegetarianism has grown over the past several years and supermarkets are realizing how big of a market it has become. To our benefit, there are now a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan items to choose from. Ensuring that you’re consuming the right amount of protein and other nutrients that are normally found in meat and fish can become difficult for some, but in my case, it becomes even more difficult. Being allergic to most fruits and being semi-lactose intolerant limits me from delicious food that other vegetarians can normally have. With this in mind, you’d wonder how one can maintain their health! The alternative of eating junk food is still an option, some of which include cupcakes, chips, fried food and processed food. I try my very best to ensure that whenever possible, I try to cook from scratch, decreasing my sodium intake and increasing the nutrients I require to stay healthy and strong. Despite my limited meal options in comparison to others, I’ll still post general vegetarian meals that are both healthy and delicious… and maybe some desserts here and there ;).

Being On Trend

Aside from my diet, I’m crazy about fashion. Though my closet isn’t as big as I may like it to be, I still have an eye for some amazing items that I’m hopeful will eventually end up in my closet.  The items I find are timeless and unique, which include some high fashion, as well as affordable fashion. The idea behind this portion of my blog is for it to be an outlet for those who want to be more fashion-forward, or those who have great items but just don’t know what to pair it with. Finding the right pieces that fit your body type and accentuate the right areas can make you look like a million bucks!

Why Fashion and Food?

A lot of people have asked me why my blog is about two different topics: fashion and food. I feel like they go hand-in-hand. The key point I want to make in this blog is feeling good about yourself – on the inside and out! Introducing more vegetarian dishes to your diet can provide you with nutrients you wouldn’t normally get from meat dishes, and it’s a great way for those looking to shed some pounds. On the other hand, finding the right clothes can improve your overall self-esteem and boost your confidence. So this blog will show you that what you eat and what you wear can make an overall positive effect on your mind, body and soul.
